There are various laser surgical techniques for glaucoma: the Yag Iridotomy selective Laser, and the Trabeculoplasty selective laser (SLT). Each technique targets specific conditions.
At times laser surgery in cases of glaucoma is only temporary even though surgery can be postponed for quite some time. In other cases, laser surgery makes ulterior surgery unnecessary or may allow the reduction of pharmacologic therapies.
